About Aven
I’m an English tutor with a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Professional Writing and over 2 years of experience. I specialise in helping emergent readers and early elementary students develop strong literacy skills. I’m passionate about children’s literature and storytelling as tools for learning. My lessons use picture books, creative play, and interactive storytelling to make reading fun. I focus on building reading comprehension, phonological awareness, and vocabulary. Each session is tailored to a child’s reading level and personal interests. I encourage curiosity, discussion, and self-expression through stories. My teaching is patient, engaging, and designed to instil a love of reading. I celebrate small successes and milestones along the way. Children gain confidence in reading aloud and sharing their interpretations. I aim to make literacy an imaginative and enjoyable journey. I specialise in teaching English for negotiation, deals, and business agreements. My methodology is performance-based and focused on active learning.
