About Julia
In order to get an in-depth English education, I flew over to London for college where I spent three years studying nothing but literature, writing, and the English language in the place it originated. From there, I attended Michigan Law where I spent the time putting my writing skills to the test, serving as a Senior Editor on the Michigan Law Journal of Law Reform and writing several wide-ranging papers on a variety of legal issues. Following law school, I clerked for a Federal Judge in the District of Nevada, where I researched, edited, read, and crafted dozens of published legal opinions. I have been living in Nevada tutoring local students in English ever since! I love working with young ones on their first words and sentences and take particular pleasure in helping high school students elevate their writing and reading comprehension. With my older students, I have experience tutoring the English component of the ACT and SAT, including SAT subject tests. I am also a part-time copy editor and proofreader, so am always working to improve my own linguistic precision. I love classic rock, short stories, going on hikes in the desert, and hanging out with my loved ones. I believe a true education respects the individuality and dignity of each student and cannot be achieved without ensuring every child or adult student is fed, cared for, listened to, and seen.

I am a full-time private tutor with years of experience working with students of all ages to improve their English skills. I hope to not only give you or your child the skills and confidence they need to feel comfortable in their English, but also instill a love of literature and language in every student I meet.
