About Guy
I grew up in Devon and spent part of my life in Qatar, which gave me an early taste for moving between very different worlds and getting on with all kinds of people.
I was educated at Blundell's School, where I held three scholarships across academics, sport, and a Head's award, reflecting the way I've always tried to give my all both in and out of the classroom. Alongside my studies I threw myself into sport and leadership. I captained the school football team and played in the Exeter Chiefs academy, so I know what it takes to perform under pressure and bring a group with you.
That thread continues at Durham, where I'm a law student going into my third year and captain of one of the university football teams. Balancing a demanding degree with sport at this level has taught me discipline, time management, and how to stay calm when the stakes are high, exactly the habits that make the difference in exams and applications.
What I enjoy most, though, is helping people get where they want to go. I mentor first-year students at university on their essays and applications, and I recently spent two months in a live-in role nannying two neurodivergent children. That experience sharpened my patience, adaptability, and ability to explain things in whatever way works best for the individual in front of me. There's no part of my week I find more rewarding than watching someone's confidence grow as their work sharpens and their marks climb.

I am a Durham University Law Student heading into my third year, ranked near the top of a cohort of around 400 - including 4th place in English Legal Language & Method and a top-25 overall standing. I hold a vacation scheme offer and have reached multiple training contract assessment centres, so I know exactly what selective applications demand and how to clear them.
For undergraduates, I coach law-school essay and exam technique, drawing on the criteria that separate a first from a 2:1. For aspiring solicitors and law applicants, I mentor vac scheme and training contract applications, written tests, and assessment centres - the exact process I've just successfully come through myself.
Excitingly, I have just created a law application reviewer tool (based on my successful applications), which will assist our sessions and maximise your value for money!
I currently mentor first-year students on their essays and applications, with strong results to show for it (2:2s up to high firsts). My lessons are online, flexible around your schedule, and built around your specific goal, whether that's a grade, a degree classification, or an offer.
