About Ralph
I have been teaching at universities for more than 20 years, notably at universities in Britain (London, Oxford, Lampeter, Winchester) and in Germany. As former Associate Professor, I have experience in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates and know what my colleagues expect from student assignments, be it essay, dissertations, blogs, projects, and so on. I can advise you how to improve your skills and how to excel at university! It's not too difficult (just a bit of effort may be necessary). Many of my former students got first-class honours and are now doing further postgraduate studies or PhDs; many got jobs in teaching and other fascinating professions. I myself was awarded a PhD in Archaeology and History at University College London in 1997. My main area of research is in prehistoric and Roman societies, ancient history, ancient religions, Celtic studies, Latin, and I have also worked on medieval and modern history and many more. We could also organise a workshop on subjects like essay writing skills or academic German/French.

As a lecturer in archaeology, history, Classics and ancient Celtic studies with more than 20 years' experience in Higher Education, I'm offering lessons and one-to-one tutorials to undergraduates and postgraduates, from BA students to PhD students. Help tailored to your needs: assisting you in writing better essays/dissertations, proofreading your thesis, improving your research and language skills. I can help with any questions about your subject from essay writing skills and analytical skills, to finding literature and resources for your doctoral thesis. My main focus is on ancient civilisations (Roman, Greek, Celtic history and archaeology, Latin), but I also have expertise in medieval and modern history and other periods of archaeology, and I can advise you on foreign languages that you might need for your research, like German and French, and ancient languages, especially Latin.
