About Jonathan
I am a patient, insightful and good-humoured teacher. And I am delighted to say that it is my students themselves who have declared this over the years. Not only do students find my teaching exciting and enthusiastic, they also praise my accuracy, attention to detail and —above all— my attention to each student's individual learning needs.
For many years I have been helping people of all ages to learn at all levels, from GCSE to post graduate. It seems to me that when you are enjoying yourself, you forget that you're even learning... and that is when the real learning happens.

What many students need is the support of a teacher who can help identify their needs, give clear guidance and offer the right sort of help. I like teaching at all levels, from the introductory to the advanced. Having been a lecturer in Theology and Biblical Studies in the University of London for thirteen years, I am very happy guiding and tutoring students at any level in order to help them on their way to achieving their goals.
I know the challenges that confront someone studying alone or, at least, who is *feeling* alone in their studying. Although there was no great ethos of learning in my secondary school, I was so excited by philosophy and theology that I worked very hard to develop the skills I needed to get a degree and to go on to specialise in the study of ancient Jewish and early Christian texts. I remember studying for months at a time largely by myself, not knowing whether I was doing the right thing. Well, I got there in the end and now I am glad to help others achieve their goals.
