About Alfie
Hi, I'm Alfie and I love languages and teaching!
I got into language learning in my school days and enjoyed it so much that I am now studying languages at university.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine - I remember tutoring my younger brother all the way back in primary school! I also love music and I have years of experience teaching the drums, my favourite instrument. I also have experience teaching Spanish and English as foreign languages, as well as mentoring prospective Oxford students.

My lessons tend to be very relaxed to facilitate natural conversation. A typical lesson would involve 30 minutes to an hour of back-and-forth conversation in English covering certain topics previously agreed upon, sometimes drawing on vocabulary lists sent in advance.
I have experience teaching English as a foreign language at the University of Oxford, where I study Spanish and Linguistics. Linguistics deals a lot with English grammar and so I have a very good grasp on the technical aspects of the language, as well as native intuition.
My lessons are for any level and age; I have tutored people from as young as 6 to as old as 60 in my years of experience. I get to know the strengths and weaknesses of all my tutees so as to provide them with a personal service tailored to their needs.
I come from London and so speak with a fairly standard British accent, which I could help you adopt, if you so wish. I can also provide you with up-to-date slang which you might not find in textbooks!
