About Emily
My name is Emily and I am a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Oxford reading philosophy and Italian. I am passionate about making learning accessible for people who learn in a variety of different ways, which is why I am committed to tailoring my lesson plans to each of my students' specific needs. Through my previous tutoring experience, I have learnt that taking the time to listen to what the student needs from me to feel supported is the best way to create a learning environment that is productive and beneficial for both parties. Furthermore, as a student myself, I believe I have the advantage of understanding the current school system from the student perspective and therefore can apply my knowledge of what personally has worked best for me when creating my lesson plans.

I provide personalised lesson plans that cater to what the student specifically wants to work on. I can work through problems and questions the student is struggling with and provide detailed feedback on any written work. In an hour-long lesson, I would usually begin by going over any work the student had sent me prior to the lesson and then we would work through a practice question together. However, this lesson structure is flexible and can be altered to address the area the student believes they need the most support in. For students completing their A-levels and looking to prepare for university applications, I offer in-depth personal statement writing workshops as well as mock interview practice for students looking to apply to Oxbridge.
