About Casie
As a university professor and former high school teacher, I am adept at working with a range of students who are trying to catch up, keep up, and/or get ahead. My students consistently rank me above average in comparison to my colleagues because they know that I will support them in not only learning but also better understanding themselves. Because I have a Ph.D. in English Studies (writing, rhetoric, literature) and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing, I am ready to support you in becoming a better reader and writer.

I am an experienced teacher at the middle school through college level who has found success by relying on the needs of the student, material, and context. My students consistently rank me amongst the highest for teaching in my college department because my work is geared toward student understanding and success through general overviews, generative interactions, consistent practice, and focused feedback.
Below is a general overview of my approach to our time together. I adjust according to your needs, focus, and level. As we work together, we (including your parents if needed) will adjust for what works best for you.
