About Philippe
While my PhD may be in biomechanics, I have gained valuable experience teaching research methods and statistics to social science students. I taught at the University of Ottawa’s Department of Communication and Department of Psychology as well as Saint-Paul University’s School of Counseling, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality. In 12 years, I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering, biophysical science, and social science to classes of 8 to 90 students. This wide variety of environments has allowed me to refine my teaching and adapt my approach. I believe that as a teacher, my responsibility is to introduce students to the material, to demonstrate its relevance and to stimulate their interest with the hope that they will have the motivation to learn independently.

I teach with energy and enthusiasm and create a classroom environment where students feel supported. I establish from the very first class that I encourage student to ask questions and share their ideas, whether in class or by email. Perfect! Knowledgeable, positive and accessible!
Perfect! Philippe has a way of breaking things down and explaining them simply using practical applications. I have always struggled with math and number but, his approach determined exactly what I know and what I still need to work on. It is still only the beginning, but his 1-on-1 methods helped me feel more confident in my abilities from the very first lesson.
- Working with Leah is wonderful. She is organized, determined and curious; she doesn't shy away from asking great questions. This makes my job as a tutor easier because I know that the time spent together is impactful.
