About Adina
I am a student studying at the University of Leeds. I began tutoring aged 16 and specialise in English, Sociology and Religious Studies. For these subjects I received A, B, A grades (respectively) at A-level and A's in all three subjects during GCSE. My biggest strength is Philosophy and Ethics, as I achieved 100% in my AS Philosophy and Ethics exams in 2016.
I have experience with working with children with Special Education Needs as I have three younger siblings who have Autism, Asperger's and Down's Syndrome. I, myself, have ADHD so I know how to engage and relate to children who may struggle academically for reasons beyond their control. My teaching method includes a lot of visual aids. I find creating mind maps and cue-cards to be the most effective model when teaching terminology and basic concepts. Getting students involved in forming their own revision is far more interesting than working through boring work-sheets! I enjoy making learning fun, creating a comfortable environment and finding inventive ways to remember content rather than following traditional, repetitive learning methods.
