About Sophia
I am a native Portuguese speaker who grew up in Guarujá, São Paulo (Brazil). In addition, I took Portuguese grammar classes since middle school and became a tutor of the language in High School. With that, I moved to the US when I was 18 years old and currently studying at CSU Long Beach. As a consequence of also learning English since I was 11 years old, I am totally capable of teaching my native language to English speakers, providing an amazing experience to any age group.

My teaching method is to focus on my student's goals, through conversational method. In consequence, I will teach them with unconventional materials, such as real movies proper for their age, songs, and even telling them real examples on how my culture can be different, teaching them how to be successful with the new language.
