Every student is different; therefore I believe it is important to structure the lessons based on the student's strengths and interests. The following strategies are examples of potential techniques I would utilize in my lessons.
For instance, if the student's desire is to be able to replicate realism of images/objects using various mediums such as paints or graphite, it is crucial to play around with light, shadows, and texture as they are what make 2-Dimensional art realistic. The student should definitely choose their favourite object or image to paint as that can stimulate motivation and capture the artist's attention!
I have a naturally bright personality so I like to create an upbeat environment for the students I teach whether they be adults, young adults, or children which I find help them better retain the knowledge learned. I believe learning should not be a mundane task but rather an enjoyable experience!
