Hello! My teaching methodology revolves around empathy, patience, and building a strong logical foundation. Having overcome my own struggles with math to eventually graduate from the University of Waterloo's Mathematics program, I know exactly where, how, and why students hit roadblocks.
My Methodology & What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to relate to students who find math intimidating. I don't just force students to memorize formulas; I break down complex concepts into simple, digestible steps so that the "why" finally makes sense. My experience teaching at a self-directed learning academy has equipped me with the skills to identify each student's unique learning pace.
A Typical Lesson
A typical session with me starts with a quick review of previous homework to catch any misunderstandings. Then, I introduce new concepts using relatable examples. We solve a few foundational problems together, and finally, the student completes guided practice problems while I provide immediate, constructive feedback.
Who These Lessons Are For
My lessons are tailored for middle and high school students (Grade 9-12) studying the Ontario Curriculum. Whether you are looking to boost your regular school GPA, manage credit school courses, or prepare for Advanced Functions and Calculus, I am here to help you turn your math anxiety into confidence.
