About Tia
I am a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Master of Chemistry (MChem) degree. My teaching focuses on helping students understand the vital role chemistry plays in our environment. I’ve had great success guiding learners through the complex but fascinating world of atmospheric chemistry and environmental pollution. From smog formation and ozone depletion to acid rain and greenhouse gas effects, I break down these topics in ways that are easy to follow. I use clear visuals, case studies, and real-world data to show how chemical processes impact our air and climate. My sessions are designed to connect theory with pressing global challenges. I’ve worked closely with environmental science students, as well as those preparing for roles in climate research or policy. Many of my students are deeply interested in air quality, sustainability, and the chemistry behind environmental change. I help them develop strong analytical skills and a solid grasp of atmospheric processes. Each lesson builds both knowledge and awareness. I create an encouraging space where curiosity leads the way. My teaching approach in Chemistry is relaxed, practical, and focused on real-world applications. I help students see chemistry not just as theory, but as a tool used in labs and research every day. My lessons often include topics like analytical chemistry, spectroscopy (NMR, IR, UV-Vis), chromatography, and quantitative analysis techniques.
I believe students learn best when they understand how concepts apply in real lab settings. That’s why I often include instrumental analysis and technique-based learning in my sessions. I break down complex topics using visual aids, step-by-step walkthroughs, and everyday examples.
For students in genetics, microbiology, or related fields, I help connect chemical principles directly to their lab work. I guide them through experimental design, sample preparation, and interpreting results. Whether it's mastering spectroscopy or understanding reaction mechanisms, I provide steady support in developing both knowledge and confidence.
