About Jovie
Hi! I am a guitar tutor with over 11 years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, majoring in Guitar. I am passionate about composing and arranging music for both solo guitar and ensembles.
My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented, designed to suit school students, hobbyists, and professional musicians alike. I focus on building strong foundations in scales, modes, rhythm training, and songwriting, while also guiding students in stage performance and musical expression.
I have helped students from intermediate to advanced levels, including those preparing for professional work in music. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and learning style, combining technique, creativity, and practical application.
I enjoy helping students develop their own musical voice and achieve confidence on the instrument. Together, we explore a wide range of musical styles, improvisation, and performance techniques.

I cover classical fingerpicking, hybrid picking techniques, staff reading, tonal control, and other essential skills. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, from beginner to advanced.
I help students develop their own style while mastering technique and musicality. I break complex concepts into simple, easy-to-follow steps, making practice effective and rewarding.
For young learners and aspiring recording artists, I focus on building confidence, stage presence, and musical expression. Lessons often include improvisation, song learning, and performance techniques.
I encourage students to explore different genres, develop tone, and understand the language of music. Each session balances technical skills with creativity.
