About George
Hi, I’m George, a second-year Electrical Engineering and Mathematics student at the University of Auckland. I’ve always loved solving problems creatively and want to help students do the same. I teach to give you the skills and confidence to think independently, tackle new challenges, and enjoy the process of learning. In my spare time, I enjoy bodybuilding, camping, hiking, and strategy games such as Magic: The Gathering, Chess, and Catan.

I’m a second-year Mathematics and Electrical Engineering student (GPA 7.5/9) with experience tutoring up to NCEA level 3 maths, physics, chemistry, statistics, and English. I was also Dux at my school and got an NCEA calculus scholarship. I teach 1–2 hour lessons that build logical reasoning in maths by encouraging students to creatively construct solutions. Rather than memorizing answers, I focus on understanding a few core concepts and adapting them to new situations rather than memorizing someone else's solution. This way, I encourage flexible problem-solving, confidence, and the ability to tackle unfamiliar questions.
