About Jake
In 2019, I graduated with departmental honors from Macalester College with a bachelors degree in music. My education included 4 semesters of music theory and ear training, 2 semesters of music history, and 4 years of performing.
I have played in several bands throughout the years spanning genres such as rock, jazz, funk, hip-hop, metal, and folk. I have even gotten to open for artists such as T-Pain, Lil' Dickie, and Lion Babe.

For me, nothing is more exciting than learning something new and sharing it with other people.
I have been teaching private music lessons for 10 years now and have developed a method that allows students to provide direction to their learning, while still developing all the essential skills of a traditional music education.
