About Linn
I am a motivated saxophone tutor with 14 years of teaching experience and a history of training around 150 students across all levels. Teaching the saxophone is more than a job for me—it is a passion that I love sharing with every learner. I believe that with the right guidance and a positive environment, anyone can learn to play beautifully and confidently.
My teaching style focuses on personalised instruction, patient guidance, and practical learning. I design lessons based on the student’s goals and strengths, ensuring they learn step by step without feeling rushed. My classes cover essential techniques such as breath control, tone building, smooth fingering, sheet music reading, and rhythmic precision. As they advance, students also explore improvisation, stylistic expression, and more complex musical pieces.
A unique skill I bring to my teaching is making students feel comfortable and confident, even if they are complete beginners. I use simple explanations, demonstrations, and clear practice routines that help students improve steadily. I also encourage creativity, allowing students to explore different genres—jazz, classical, pop, contemporary, and more.
I aim to create a balanced learning experience that develops both skill and passion. My teaching not only focuses on technique but also on inspiring students to enjoy music, stay disciplined, and grow at their own pace. With a positive mindset and a well-structured approach, I guide students to become confident, expressive, and joyful saxophonists.

My saxophone teaching methodology focuses on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I understand that each student learns differently, so I adjust the lesson pace, explanations, and practice activities to match their natural learning method. This makes learning smoother and more enjoyable.
I guide students through essential saxophone techniques such as breath support, tone clarity, finger movement, articulation, scales, rhythm exercises, and expressive performance. My explanations are simple and practical, helping learners apply concepts easily. Students also have the freedom to choose music styles they enjoy, whether it is jazz solos, classical pieces, film scores, or modern songs.
Collaboration is at the heart of my classes. I encourage students to share their ideas, goals, and practice experiences so we can build a personalised learning plan. I maintain a positive atmosphere filled with patience and encouragement, which helps students gain confidence and develop a strong musical mindset.
In addition to saxophone, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, breath management, and basic improvisation. With adaptable teaching and positive support, I help students develop into well-rounded saxophone players.
