I am currently a Dual Credit Advanced Composition, SAT tutor, Tutor for AP Comp and AP Literature and Writing Coach for College Applicants. I am a board certified teacher and hold a BA from The University of Iowa and a MA from Governors State University.

I am a veteran college instructor who has taught a variety of courses in both traditional and virtual settings over the past 20 years (to name just a few-- English 101, 102, Survey of American Fiction, World Literature, AP Composition, Creative Non-Fiction, Business and Technical Writing, to name just a few). For the most part, I work with high school juniors and seniors as well as college students, undergraduate and graduate, traditional and non-traditional (returning adults). I have also worked with international students, either assisting with IB writing projects or building ELL students' fluency and confidence using mentor texts drawn from current American media streams.
Throughout the week, I am available from 4 PM CST to 11 PM CST; I am also free on most weekends. I use a combination of Google Classroom, shared docs and Zoom to deliver highly individualized instruction and opportunities for teacher-student collaboration. Our first meeting is free, an initial, no-obligation consultation to (1) see if we're a good fit and (2) to discern whether my content knowledge is sufficient to handle the academic task.
