About Joshua
I have taught at multiple high schools in the area over the past 12 years. I always say I am a teacher of kids first and a math teacher second. My goal is to provide a foundation where my students have the ability to feel successful. Clearing that "mental block" will allow students to be open to the subject, that unfortunately, so many hate early in their mathematical journeys. I have a 2-year-old at home and I hope my kiddo's teachers in the future can support him in similar ways. I love to play card and board games and the reason I tutor is to be able to go on the occasional trip with the family.

I love our local libraries and often choose to do lessons at a convenient location for all of us. I can be flexible in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area!
I have taught Middle School Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2 consistently throughout my 12 years of teaching. I have a passion for critical reasoning and understanding the building blocks of math curriculum. I have taken many high level math classes, but I find joy in helping my students succeed in the classes I teach. I believe every student has the ability to succeed.
