About Asher
I am an experienced flute tutor dedicated to helping students develop technical skill, musical understanding, and expressive ability. My teaching philosophy blends creativity, critical thinking, and accountability to ensure consistent progress. I guide students through tone development, breath control, phrasing, and rhythm while also teaching music theory, sight-reading, and ear training. Each lesson is customised to meet the student’s level, pace, and goals. I act as a mentor, providing guidance, motivation, and structured support throughout the learning process. Accountability is an important part of my method—I help students set goals and track their progress.
Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, composition, and musical exploration. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for growth and reflection. My lessons emphasise critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-evaluation, allowing students to become independent learners. I create a positive, focused, and supportive learning environment. Along with flute, I teach related subjects such as theory, rhythm, and performance preparation. My approach builds confidence, discipline, and expressive ability. In my flute lessons, I focus on creativity, critical thinking, and steady growth. I want my students to enjoy every step of learning while becoming responsible and confident musicians. My teaching style combines patience with discipline so students can improve consistently. I believe that learning the flute is more than playing songs—it’s learning how to communicate through music. I help students think about what each note means and how it connects to emotion. My lessons include fun exercises that strengthen tone, rhythm, and breath control.
I mentor students to become independent learners who can analyse and solve musical challenges. Accountability is a key part of my approach, and I help students set weekly goals to stay on track. I make sure every class feels supportive and encouraging. We also explore music theory to understand the why behind what we play.
Listening and creativity go hand in hand in my lessons. Students are encouraged to improvise, compose, and explore their own musical ideas. I teach in a way that adjusts to different ages and levels. My aim is to build confidence, skill, and joy in every student. I also provide guidance in related topics like theory, performance, and sight-reading. My ultimate goal is to help students become expressive, thoughtful, and responsible musicians.
