About Megan
I am currently a student earning my Bachelors of Music in Viola Performance. I have given private/group lessons since 2018 (up to 5 students at once) to beginner and intermediate students
-Principal violist in the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra; can assist with orchestra excerpts
-Freelance experience playing for weddings, dinner parties, orchestra pit for musicals, and more

My teaching method is dependent on the needs and wants of the student:
-Adjusting their set-up with the viola/violin
-Solo, orchestra, and chamber music
-Different techniques including: reading music (alto, treble, or bass clef), rhythmic accuracy, intonation accuracy, vibrato, shifting, dynamics, memorization
I am comfortable teaching students of all ages.
I am classically trained and with that comes creating a foundation of good technique, which is emphasized in my lessons as that opens up the most possibilities for students to play whatever they want, and play the viola/violin beautifully. However, I believe that having fun and playing with musicality is the most important part!
