About Anika
Anika is currently studying music and astrophysics at the Australian National University. Originally from Sydney, she was the concertmaster of the NSW Arts Unit Symphony Orchestra and affiliated programs from 2018 to 2020. Upon moving to Canberra in 2021, she was awarded the First Year Entry Scholarship and became a Wesley Scholar at the end of the year. Anika is currently the concertmaster of the ANU Orchestra and former concertmaster of the ANU Chamber Orchestra, as well as being an AYO National Music Camp (2019) and Orchestra of the Music Makers/School of the Arts Music Camp (OMM-SOTA, Singapore, 2018) alumni. She is the 2nd violinist of the Ellery String Quartet, which won First Prize and the People’s Choice Award at the Friends of the School of Music Ensemble Competition in 2022, and has done a number of Australian and world premieres with Canberra Sinfonia as the principal 2nd violinist.
Lessons are $35 for half and hour and $70 for an hour.

After over 15 years of playing the violin, nothing brings me more joy than to pass on knowledge to passionate students of all ages. With a healthy balance of technical work and pieces of all genres, I aim to provide students with not only great technique and musicianship, but a love of music.
Having been though AMEB and Suzuki exams myself, I am familiar with both systems and am willing to teach both. I can also provide tutoring in Aural Skills and Music Theory, which are integral parts of the AMEB syllabus.
Additionally I completed Year 12 in NSW and achieved a Band 6 in Music 2 (in which I was nominated for Encore) and E4 in Music Extension, and can guide students through Performance, Composition and Musicology components of this course.
My lessons are aimed at beginner to intermediate students, (AMEB Grade 8 and below) and teaching style will vary depending on the student.
