- What kind of experience do you have? I have been teaching violin for over ten years working mostly with children and teenagers, adult beginners, amateur players and professionals. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? YES - Where and with whom did you train? I started learning violin at the age of 6 in a Primary Music School and later on completed my Mmus.- Do you belong to any professional organisations? Musicians Union - Tell me about some of your current students. Currently I have a small group of young beginner students between ages 6 - 12, two talented teenage students on upper-intermediate level preparing for grade 8 exams, and adult beginner and adult advanced students.

My main aim is to help my students become independent musicians. I will focus on the technical aspects of your playing which in return will help you achieve good musical results. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I am happy to teach complete beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. I particularly like helping adults improve their technical and musical skills as well as helping young children with starting to play violin. In my teaching practice, I concentrate on creating a supporting environment in which my students can learn and grow. I have an MMus in Classical Violin performance and advanced training in Historical Performance specialising in Baroque Violin. I am happy to help anyone wishing to learn to play the baroque violin and help with learning to play in different historical styles. - Tell me about your qualifications. Trinity College of Music - Violin - Performance Pathway - MMus - Awarded Postgrad Academic Scholarships. Krakow Conservatoire of Classical Music - Violin - Performance (2007) - How much do you charge? I offer a free, face-to-face trial/consultation lesson and if, after that, you'd like to continue your lessons my fees are the standard Musicians' Union rates: 30min lesson - £25 45min lesson - £35 60min lesson - £40 90min lesson - £60 - Where do you teach? I am happy to come to your home to teach. You do not need any special equipment to learn to play the violin. Your instrument and a music stand are all you will need. If you don't have those, I can give you some recommendations on what is best to get. - When are you available? I am flexible and available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I teach children starting at age 6, teenagers; adult beginners; adult amateur players who want to master their violin skills, and music college students. I generally do not take on children younger than 6 but can consider so after a trial lesson. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? I regularly prepare my students to grade exams = ABRSM; Trinity Guildhall exams and Music College entrance exams. All of my students successfully pass their exams with merits or distinctions. - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring: I can occasionally give lessons on Zoom, however, I believe that the students benefit the most from face-to-face lessons.

As an adult beginner, Paulina is the style of violin teacher that I sought: one with a passion for the subject she teaches. She is a natural teacher; helping her students connect to music, with violin as the instrument. She is an incisive instructor, having clear empathy for her students and adapting each lesson accordingly. She is a firm but fair tutor, her lessons being both thoughtful and enjoyable.
Paulina has been teaching my three children, aged 17, 15 and 10 for nearly two years. She is clearly very excited and passionate about music and she conveys this through her lessons with the children. She always provides a high, but friendly, quality of teaching and expects a similar quality of practice from the children without being overly disciplinarian.
