About Callie
I am a professional language teacher and Spanish/English translator and have been teaching Spanish as a foreign language and tutoring for school subjects in Spanish for 5 years (and teaching English for 6 years). I have had hundreds of students! Some are still in primary or secondary school but others have studied at universities in the US and abroad, or have moved into the professional world with their language experiences.

Hello! I'm Callie, a Virginia-born-and-raised Spanish teacher at your disposal to help you achieve your goals for learning Spanish (or English)! While living both inside and outside of the US I've taught classes to all ages and in all kinds of concentrations, including preparation for those who are going to take international exams, school support and functional language (for the travelers like me!) I want all my students to have fun and feel comfortable in making mistakes; I am also a "forever" student of the world and of Spanish and French languages (I learn something every day!) and the only way to learn is by making mistakes! In fact, I often find it more useful to have a non-native teacher instructing in the foreign language because they know exactly where learning gaps can occur. My goals are yours, and having said that my methods are focused on the students - you, more than me, are going to speak, write and play with the language! I know that now more than ever it is important to get creative with online learning, so my goal is to connect with my students in a language environment that is fun and engaging.

Preparing for lessons takes time and resources, and as such I ask that you make payments in advance so that if something comes up or a cancellation is necessary, I can accommodate my schedule. I always offer make up lessons if a student needs to cancel more than 24hrs before class, or if there are extenuating circumstances.
