The first thing that I do is listen and understand the problems of students/learners, then work through the problem with them. through detailed explanations and provided examples of solutions I try to challenged/push my students to address their academic problems independently but continuing to work side-by-side with them until they understand the work. I also encourage and praise good progress so that their self-esteem is boosted (this helps student to engage with their schoolwork with more confidence)
