About Joey
My first priority is to create a connection with the student and awaken their interest and drive. I will never lie to them, never talk down to them, or intentionally diminish their opinion of themselves and their ability to succeed. Because I find the process of teaching and interacting with children so naturally interesting, I am endlessly patient-and therefore able to teach with a relaxed yet determined optimism.

My lessons are different because they are focused first and foremost on engaging the hearts of each student individually, as opposed to advancing forward in a lecture and laying the responsibility of retention and understanding at the feet of the student. I use hand drawn cartoons, animal character drawings, interactive sketches and games to inject a spirit of fun into every class.
