About Grace
I have studied Spanish since I was 16, as well as living and teaching in a primary school in Spain, where I became fluent in the language. I completed a degree in Hispanic Studies at the University of Birmingham, which enabled me to take part in a year long exchange in Guadalajara, Mexico. There, I was able to refine my conversational and written Spanish. It also meant that I became much more familiar with Latin American Spanish, which complements my existing knowledge of the more traditional European variation, which is spoken in Spain.
Last year I spent a total of 7 months in Guatemala, Mexico and Colombia, continuing to perfect my command of the language and deepen my knowledge of global Hispanic cultures.
I am a friendly, approachable and engaged teacher with a good sense of humour. Over the years, I have taught Mathematics, English as a foreign language, yoga and Spanish. I find that my students respond well to my cues and explanations, and I get great satisfaction from helping students to work towards their objectives.

Having learned Spanish as a second language myself, I know how difficult it can be when faced with all you have to learn. I will work with you to break the language down so that it no longer has to be a daunting task. My students find that my lessons are fun and engaging, and I try to use a variety of tools and materials to help with this. I am fluent in Spanish, meaning I can provide an immersive class for students who are more advanced. I have also worked as a private Mathematics tutor in the past so I am able to explain logical processes in a comprehensible way, and a yoga teacher, so I like to think I can create a nice (and relaxed!) learning environment for my students.

Grace has given me Spanish tuition for several months and I couldn’t recommend her enough, she is a fantastic tutor, very passionate and friendly making you feel comfortable and engaged.
