My Tutoring Philosophy
I’ve found that students who excel academically are often those who genuinely enjoy the subject. It’s difficult to perform well when feeling uninspired or overwhelmed by examination pressure. That is why creating a supportive learning environment is so important in obtaining results.
Given how disruptive the COVID-19 pandemic has been for students, the advantages of focussed, individual support have never been more acute. I look forward to building a partnership and getting those grades up!
What to expect with me as your tutor
Before we begin our lessons, I'd look to have an introductory meeting where I can understand exactly what you require and any prep work I’d need to do (ie. researching your particular exam board specification, finding past papers, re-reading set texts etc).
The structure and pace of our lessons will be tailored to each student based on who you are and how you work best. Having been tutored myself, I’ll incorporate my experience of what was and was not effective in our lessons.
I'm happy to give a report to a parent/guardian after each lesson to let you know what we’ve covered, highlight the progress made and if there were any areas that were particularly tricky.
