About Maxwell
With 16+ years of Piano teaching experience, I work with school students, college students, and working professionals. I provide personalized lessons that focus on building skills gradually and creating a strong foundation for future learning.
I believe the best lessons are student-centered. I begin by understanding the learner's current knowledge, goals, interests, strengths, and challenges. I then choose suitable exercises and learning activities.
My teaching areas include piano fundamentals, finger technique, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, notation, sight-reading, ear training, song learning, improvisation, and performance skills.
I combine theory and practice so students can understand and immediately apply what they learn. I use demonstrations, guided exercises, and real songs to make lessons interesting and useful.
My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, flexibility, communication, and motivation. I believe students need encouragement to keep progressing, especially when they face difficult pieces or unfamiliar concepts.
I also help students develop consistent practice routines. I show them how to focus on specific goals rather than practicing without direction. This helps them improve their accuracy, timing, technique, and confidence.
One notable achievement in my teaching career is gaining 9 years of experience with students from different age groups and learning levels. This has helped me become an adaptable tutor with strong communication and mentoring skills.
My goal is to help every learner become confident with the piano and capable of continuing their musical development independently. Whether you want to play for enjoyment, improve your skills, or prepare for performances, I provide supportive and structured guidance.

My piano teaching methodology is built around Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe piano lessons should be both educational and engaging, allowing students to learn important skills while enjoying music.
I begin by understanding the student's level, interests, preferred learning style, and goals. I then choose suitable exercises and songs. Beginners can learn posture, hand position, finger exercises, notes, rhythm, scales, chords, and simple pieces. Advanced learners can focus on technique, sight-reading, musical expression, and performance.
I use demonstrations, written examples, listening, repetition, and hands-on practice. I change my teaching method whenever a student needs a different explanation. This helps make difficult piano concepts easier to understand.
Flexibility allows me to adjust the lesson plan according to progress. Students receive extra support when needed and greater challenges when they are ready.
I believe collaboration creates stronger learning. I involve students in selecting music, discussing their progress, setting practice goals, and sharing their musical ideas.
My positive approach helps students feel comfortable while learning. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for improvement, and I provide encouraging feedback throughout the lesson.
In addition to piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard skills, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to make learning piano enjoyable while building confidence and independence.
