About Chloe
I am a current English BA candidate at Whitman College, a renowned liberal arts college. I spent a semester abroad at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where I continued my study of English literature and worked closely with world-leading researchers in the field. St. Andrews has recently ranked above both The University of Oxford and The University of Cambridge, and I achieved top grades while studying there. In High School, I achieved a full International Baccalaureate degree from a college preparatory private school. I also attended a private middle school, which ignited my interest in literature initially. I have experience with a wide variety of writing ranging from poetry (my work is published in the online poetry publication 'Zoetic Press') to journalistic writing (I worked for multiple semesters at Whitman College's newspaper, the Whitman Wire), to academic essay writing. Last summer, I assisted my advisor on a several month long research project. After receiving my undergraduate degree I will be pursuing a Master's Program.

Anyone in need of assistance with paper edits, understanding English literature, applying for English programs, generating essay topics, drafting/writing essays, or anything in between is in the right place! I have been studying English literature both formally and informally for my entire life and have a genuine passion for helping others engage with this fantastic field of study. As a current student studying English, I am in touch daily with academia and am well aware of the process of applying to academic programs as well as completing academic work. I am willing to work with any age group. My specialty is classic literature, but I am happy to adapt lesson plans to suit your needs. I will tutor you from a down-to-earth student perspective, aiming to make literature more accessible and help you generate your own ideas. I will design a lesson plan for you in specific after an initial meeting with you to establish your goals and experience. I look forward to working with you!

I highly recommend Chloe as a literature tutor. As a professor at Whitman College, I've gotten to know Chloe well over the course of several classes. She has a razor-sharp eye for critical reading, a strong knowledge of English and American literary history, and is a sophisticated, polished writer. She does a wonderful job bringing different sorts of lenses to bear upon the text in question, from author biography and historical background to literary theory. She communicates complex ideas clearly, moreover, and has written impressive essays and given memorable class presentations on subjects ranging from Puritan poetry to Allen Ginsberg and the Beats. Her affable personality makes her a delight to converse with as well. I have no doubt she'd be a wonderful tutor for a wide range of tasks (critical reading, essay writing, classroom presentations). I have the utmost confidence in Chloe, and I know you'll have fun working with her, too!
