About Scott
Teaching guitar allows me to share the reality of playing in bars and venues across Nashville and Austin. It is all about the music. With 12 years of gigging under my belt, I focus on the synthesis of singing and playing that defines a true artist.
My self-taught foundation informs how I approach teaching chord transitions and electric technique to intermediate learners. I break down complex concepts like scales and modes until they feel natural. You can expect a relaxed environment where we focus on how to actually make your guitar parts support your voice.

Since you want to sound like a performer, we start by looking at the song as a single living entity. It usually begins by checking your tuning and maintenance before we jump into the specific acoustic technique required for your chosen track.
We might spend time on ear training or reading tabs to ensure you truly understand the anatomy of the music. Whether we are tackling grade exam prep or building a solo, the focus remains on the final sound.
Teenagers and adults alike find that my 12 years of experience help demystify the process of improvisation. I make sure your chord transitions serve the lyrical narrative of the song. We keep things steady but always moving toward your goal of feeling confident.
You will leave with a better grasp of how guitar parts interact with vocal delivery. My aim is to help you build the skills that turn practice into a performance.
