About Timothy
I’ve loved math for as long as I can remember—from early summers at Johns Hopkins CTY math camps to my years at The Bishop’s School, where I first discovered the thrill of problem solving and proof. I went on to study mathematics at Williams College, where small, discussion-based tutorials deepened my love for the subject’s beauty and logic. Today, I bring that same curiosity, rigor, and conversational teaching style to every student I work with, helping them see math not as a set of rules, but as a language of ideas. I am originally from San Diego, California, and am currently pursuing a Master's at UCLA. In my free time, I enjoy running, surfing, going to comedy shows, and making a fool of myself in public spaces. If you want a free consultation with me, please reach out!

My lessons bring the intimacy of the Williams College tutorial style—small, Socratic, and deeply conversational—into one-on-one tutoring. I believe math is best learned through dialogue, not lectures. Together, we unpack ideas, question assumptions, and arrive at understanding through genuine curiosity and collaboration. Every session is tailored to each student’s unique way of thinking, connecting abstract concepts to intuition and real-world logic. My goal isn’t just to teach formulas—it’s to cultivate clarity, confidence, and the joy of discovering how beautifully math fits together (or at the very least, I can help you get a solid grade!).
