About Suola
Hello, I’m Suola (Ms. Solar) — a dedicated and passionate piano tutor with over seven years of teaching experience. I hold dual degrees in Composition and Music Engineering from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, as well as a Master’s in Composition from the California Institute of the Arts. My background combines deep classical training with a modern, student-centered teaching style. I’ve guided students of all ages and skill levels, from young beginners to advanced performers, helping them build strong technique, musical expression, and confidence. My lessons are thoughtful, structured, and always tailored to each individual’s needs. With patience, clarity, and professionalism, I’m committed to making every student’s musical journey meaningful and inspiring.

My teaching method focuses on nurturing both technical foundation and musicality through a student-centered approach. I incorporate classical techniques, ear training, music theory, and creative exercises to build well-rounded skills. I also integrate elements of composition and improvisation to help students connect personally with the music.
A typical lesson begins with warm-up and technique practice, followed by repertoire work and musicianship training. I adjust the pace and content based on the student’s age, personality, and goals, ensuring each session is engaging and productive.
What sets me apart is my diverse background in both classical and contemporary (pop) music, as well as my experience working with students of all ages, from beginners to advanced learners. I understand the psychology of young learners and create a supportive, encouraging space where they can thrive.
These lessons are ideal for students from elementary level to college prep, including those preparing for music exams, competitions, or simply learning for enjoyment.

She’s a very good teacher. I took lessons with her and definitely she has passion and knows how to help me improve on all areas for pianos she even taught me composition which is cool.
She’s a prolific piano teacher capable of many genres such as pop, classical, contemporary, film… you name it. She teaches using a what fits the student method rather than sticking to the book. I highly recommended her.
