About Joshua
I worked as a writing tutor for college students while enrolled in my undergraduate program from 2006-2010. After completing my B.A. in sociology in 2010, I obtained a 100-hour TEFL certification and then spent the next three years teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) in Seoul, South Korea. Upon returning to the U.S. at the end of 2014, I began working as a law clerk/paralegal for a Philadelphia law firm. I then started law school the following fall, continuing to work for the firm part-time while enrolled. After graduating in 2018, I passed the bar exam and spent the next six years practicing law until I decided to pursue opportunities outside litigation at the end of 2024. I have an excellent command of spoken and written English, superior logical and reasoning abilities, and am familiar with education and lesson planning relating to EFL curricula.

My method is to work with you to identify the areas you most need or want to improve and develop individualized lesson plans to focus on strengthening those skills.
I have several years of experience tutoring college level writing students, along with several years of experience as an EFL (English as a foreign language teacher).
I have a B.A. in sociology and completed an honors thesis in that field. I also have a J.D. and practiced law for six years.
I have an excellent command of spoken and written English and am available to help you improve your abilities, whether you are in high school, college, or graduate school and whether you are a native speaker or an EFL student.
