Hi! I’m Marina, and I’m excited to help you learn English in a fun and relaxed way. Don’t worry about making mistakes—that’s part of the learning process! We’ll go at your pace, focusing on real conversations and useful words to help you feel more confident speaking English.
We’ll keep things simple and practical. I’ll explain things clearly, and if anything doesn’t make sense, just ask! We can compare English to Spanish when it helps, and we’ll practice with real-life situations so you can use what you learn right away.

Lesson Plan: Basic English for Spanish Speakers
Level: Beginner
Duration: 1 hour
Objective: Students will learn basic greetings, introductions, and simple present tense sentence structures.
Materials: Flashcards, whiteboard, markers, printed dialogues, audio clips
Lesson Outline
1. Warm-Up (10 min)
Greetings in English: “Hello,” “Hi,” “Good morning,” “Good afternoon,” “Good evening.”
Brief conversation practice: Pair up with student and greet each other.
Compare to Spanish equivalents: "Hola," "Buenos días," etc.
2. Introductions (15 min)
Phrases:
“What’s your name?” → “My name is ___.”
“Where are you from?” → “I’m from ___.”
Role-playing: Students introduce themselves to the instructor.
3. Basic Sentence Structure (20 min)
Subject + Verb + Object structure (e.g., “I like coffee.”)
Common verbs: to be, to like, to have
False cognates (e.g., "embarazada" vs. "embarrassed")
Simple present tense practice with common activities
4. Listening & Speaking Practice (10 min)
Listen to a short dialogue and answer comprehension questions.
Practice pronunciation of tricky sounds (e.g., "th" in “thanks” vs. “s” in “gracias”).
5. Wrap-Up & Review (5 min)
