About Camila
With over 10 years of teaching experience and a BA in Comparative Literature with a focus on Spanish and another world language, I offer a unique and immersive approach to learning Spanish. I use visual arts and architecture from the Spanish-speaking world as a foundation for language exploration. My lessons guide students through art critiques, historical styles, and architectural vocabulary while building fluency and cultural awareness. Together, we analyze murals, paintings, monuments, and structures to learn how Spanish expresses form, feeling, and historical context. From Gaudí’s surreal buildings to Rivera’s bold murals, every lesson is a journey through culture and design. I incorporate images, documentaries, and interactive discussion to bring these artistic movements to life. This method improves descriptive vocabulary, encourages analytical thinking, and deepens your connection to the Spanish-speaking world.
