About Diya
I’m a guitar teacher with **12 years of experience** and a **Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Guitar Emphasis**, and I love helping students go beyond playing songs—they learn to **create their own**. My teaching focuses on **songwriting, composition, and artist development**, guiding each student to find their unique sound. I work with aspiring **singer-songwriters and independent musicians**, helping them craft lyrics, shape melodies, and bring their ideas to life. Together, we study chord progressions, song structure, and the art of telling stories through music. I believe every student has a voice worth hearing, and my lessons are designed to build both **skill and confidence**. My guitar teaching approach is all about **helping students grow as musicians and as people**. Technique is important, so I focus on **finger placement, strumming patterns, and tone control**, but I always connect these skills to real music that excites the student.
I believe the guitar can be more than an instrument—it can be a tool for **stress relief, emotional expression, and confidence building**. Together, we explore how playing can calm the mind, tell a story, and unlock creativity. I include exercises that blend **structured practice with free exploration**, letting students write their own riffs, improvise melodies, or reinterpret their favorite songs.
For those drawn to **classical precision**, I guide them through phrasing, dynamics, and thoughtful interpretation of timeless works.
