About Taryn
Hi, I’m a guitar teacher with over 10 years of experience and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Guitar Studies. My passion lies in helping guitarists sharpen their ears and truly listen to music in a deeper way. I specialize in advanced ear training, guiding students through transcribing solos, recognizing chord progressions by ear, and even working toward developing perfect pitch. I believe that great playing starts with great listening. My lessons are built around real songs, real sounds, and hands-on practice. Whether it's learning to hear subtle nuances in a jazz solo or figuring out complex rock riffs by ear, I’ll show you how to break it all down. We’ll use tools like call-and-response playing, interval recognition, and harmonic dictation to make your ear your strongest asset. I love working with students who are ready to go beyond tabs and theory sheets. My approach is personal, practical, and grounded in musical context.
