About Tali
My guitar teaching combines the analytical foundation of a BM in World Music (Guitar Traditions) with years of performance in metal and progressive scenes. Over 5 years, I’ve refined a teaching method that balances speed, tone, and feel. I help students understand the mechanics of fast, clean playing through mindful repetition and efficient motion. We break down techniques like alternate picking, legato phrasing, and string skipping. Lessons are tailored for both teens just starting out and adults pursuing advanced technical goals. I emphasise clarity and tone shaping even in high-speed solos. My approach connects theory with fretboard fluency, ensuring every scale and arpeggio serves musical purpose. We also discuss stage presence and confidence in performance settings. Students gain both skill and mindset for serious musicianship. I value patience, precision, and individuality in every player. My guitar teaching is rooted in the art of listening deeply. I teach students how to hear the structure, emotion, and rhythm within every song. We focus on developing a strong musical ear through exercises in interval recognition, melodic dictation, and transcription. Each lesson builds awareness of tone, pitch, and timing. For The Campfire Strummer, I design rhythm-based listening activities using folk and pop tunes. For The Blues Seeker, we explore ear-based improvisation using blues scales and motifs. Students learn to identify progressions and melodies without visual aids. I use simple, practical drills that connect hearing to fretboard movement. Over time, this strengthens memory and instinctive playing. My method encourages independence from sheet music and tablature. I emphasise mindful repetition and musical curiosity. Each student learns to trust their ear as their guide. Soon, you’ll be able to recognise melodies, harmonies, and chord changes with ease.
