I’m a guitar tutor with a BM in World Music, focused on Guitar Traditions, and over 7 years of teaching experience. I specialize in combining academic insight with high-octane, real-world technique—especially in metal, shred, and progressive rock. My goal is to help students build blazing speed, technical precision, and fearless stage confidence. Whether you're a young learner picking up your first riff or an adult revisiting your musical dreams, I shape lessons around your personal goals. From alternate picking and sweep arpeggios to tapping and speed-building drills, we’ll dive deep into the mechanics of shred. My guitar teaching approach focuses on building strong music reading skills from the ground up. I combine standard notation and tablature so students can move confidently between both systems. We work through sight-reading exercises that gradually increase in difficulty, always matched to your pace. Rhythm notation is introduced early and revisited often, helping you feel secure when reading any musical style.
Understanding how to interpret written music is key to playing in classical, jazz, and ensemble settings. My lessons use short excerpts, real repertoire, and customized reading drills. I’m especially effective in guiding students who want to master traditional reading, whether you're exploring jazz charts or classical scores. I support learners in breaking down complex passages into simple, clear patterns.
