About Jordan
Jordan Dawson, a Toronto-based artist, traces his journey from the small town of Harrowsmith, Ontario, to the vibrant cityscape. Initially faced with the prospect of a blue-collar quiet lifestyle, he made a decision to follow his artistic aspirations. Fueled by many tired nights seated in front of a television screen and the wanting desire to be a part of the worlds being presented to him. Pursuing his passion for film, he enrolled in Queen's University to study the intricacies of the craft. While he initially embarked on a career as a director of photography, Jordan soon discovered his true calling as a performer. However, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that Jordan's life took an unexpected turn. A sudden cancer diagnosis acted as a stark reminder of life's fragility, prompting him to reassess his priorities and commit even more fervently to honing his artistic abilities. Fueled by a renewed sense of determination, Jordan dedicated himself to refining his craft and creating meaningful work. Though now free and clear of the diagnosis, it afforded him the narrowing in on what is important in life. With each performance and project, Jordan seeks to capture the essence of a human experience and hopes to one day deliver something motivating to another pair of watchful eyes, tucked away in some corner of the world.

About Me I’m a professional actor with extensive experience across film, television, and theater. My work is grounded in truth, risk, and presence. Over the years, I’ve come to believe one thing above all else: acting is the practice of empathy. It’s about stepping fully into someone else’s shoes, honestly, without judgment — and doing so with technique, courage, and emotional clarity. My Approach as a Tutor My teaching is rooted in truthfulness and transformation. I help actors connect deeply to the moment, make bold choices, and bring vulnerability and strength to their performances. Every lesson is shaped by your goals — whether that’s building a reel, prepping for an audition, or sharpening your ability to take direction on set. I’ll show you how to: • Take creative risks without self-consciousness • Reinterpret scenes with nuance and originality • Respond to direction with agility and clarity • Let empathy guide character work, not affectation • Ground performances in something real — not performance tricks Methodology & Techniques I draw from Meisner, Method, Practical Aesthetics, and contemporary screen technique. But above all, I tailor my approach to you. My toolbox includes: • Scene study and monologue work • Text analysis and emotional objectives • On-camera coaching with playback • Breath, body, and presence work • Sensory and imagination training • Audition preparation and industry insights What Sets Me Apart • A lived-in understanding of the industry — not just theory, but practice • A focus on making actors competitive by building performances that stand out • Real experience helping actors craft strong, castable demo reels • A one-on-one, collaborative environment where your instincts are honored • You’ll leave every session with tools you can actually use — on set, in the room, or on tape A Typical Lesson 1. Warm-Up & Grounding – Presence work to get you out of your head and into your body 2. Scene or Monologue Work – With layered coaching focused on choices, risk, and subtlety 3. Playback/Feedback – For screen work, we’ll record and review to analyze what’s working 4. Direction Practice – Learn to shift your performance with clarity and adaptability 5. Crafting Interpretation – Bring something undeniably yours to the material Who It’s For • Working or aspiring actors looking to elevate their craft and confidence • Drama school students seeking one-on-one support • Film/TV actors preparing for self-tapes, auditions, or complex roles • Stage actors transitioning to screen • Professionals ready to dive deeper and find their edge All levels are welcome — but this space is especially valuable for actors who are serious, open, and ready to grow. If you believe acting is about truth, connection, and craft, you’ll feel at home here.
