About Eftychia
Hello, Everyone! My name is Eftychia (Effie), which means “Happiness” in Greek and I offer happiness to the people who would love to learn Greek and math. My goal is to keep the Greek language and mindset alive and thriving for another five-thousand of years! I am a teacher in Greece with a Masters Degree in Education. I have lived in New York but am currently on a Greek island. In New York, I worked in Greek-bilingual schools while studying at Hunter College (CUNY). I used to work in the public school system in Greece but now I have the pleasure of being the Head of Studies at the Greek-American Non Profit Organization that promotes Greek culture and education. I am also currently working on my PhD in Digital Media and Communication at the Ionian University of Greece. Most of my students are Greek-American and bilingual. My life’s goal is to influence my students to learn not by heart, but from the heart! Are you ready for a great journey into the depths of the Greek math and culture?

I am a Greek teacher and I teach Greek and mathematics. Math is a language and the Greek math is a different language that lets you understand how my Greek ancestors used to think and how they created this 5000-year civilisation which thrived!
If you want to learn algebra and geometry in the Greek way, book now a lesson and it will be my pleasure to teach you!
My methodology is based on Constructivism which is the notion that people actively construct their own knowledge, and that reality is determined by your experiences as a learner. The major concept is that my students use their previously learned knowledge as a foundation and build on it with new things that they learn.
