About Timothy

Let me introduce myself to you so we may come to know one another better. I have taught and teach developmental English, composition, Fundamentals of Oral Communication, literature (American and British), argumentation, creative writing, and professional communications at Brown Mackie College, Broadview University, ITT-Tech, the College of Western Idaho, The University of Phoenix, Ashford University, Halifax Community College, and Idaho State University. I am also a writer, and I am currently working on a novel, as well as, other writing projects.

Prior to teaching, I pursued a career in law enforcement. I had been an Internment and Resettlement Specialist for the Army, but left that in 2001 and moved to Idaho where I earned my BA in English from Idaho State University, and then I moved to Boise to work for the Idaho Department of Correction, but found I would rather go to graduate school, so I enrolled at Boise State, and earned my MFA in Fiction. I just graduated with my second master's degree in Human Resources Development with an emphasis in CTE in December (CLASS OF 2023!).

I am passionate about writing.

My wife, Jennifer, is a homemaker. Jennifer and I have been married for 25 years, and we have three great kids; Aidan is 24, Sydney is 18, and Logan is 8 years old. Jennifer is from Idaho, but I am from North Carolina.

In addition to being passionate about writing, I also love teaching.

About the lesson

Whether it is learning to write, wanting to improve one's writing, learning about literature, or wanting to update one's resume, I provide students with a dynamic approach that helps develop confidence in one's ability. My goal is to get the student not just through the material, but so the student will leave the classroom, or session, with a improved confidence in their own ability and skill.

I have been teaching at the college level for 15 years. I have also been writing for 30 years.
