About Sofiane
I'm a French and English teacher and a writer working on my first novel. I've spent years reading literary fiction closely — Carver, Lahiri, Didion, Rooney — and teaching others to write with the same attention. I work from a clear aesthetic: restraint is not a limitation, it's a form of trust. I teach because I find the work of reading someone's prose carefully, and helping them see what they couldn't see before, genuinely interesting. Not as a side project. As a practice.

These lessons are for writers who already write — and suspect their drafts are doing too much. We work directly on your prose: no generic exercises, no theory for its own sake. You bring a piece. We read it closely, find what's excess, and cut. Sessions run 60 minutes online. I work with adults serious about literary fiction and essays who want a reader with a clear aesthetic point of view, not a cheerleader.
