About Jospeh
JT Burnett II writes speculative fiction and drama through a comedic lens. Joseph strives to bring playfulness to his stories whether they are set in the here and now, a magic-infused keep, or a moon base controlled by demonic space mice.
Joseph graduated from the College of Charleston in 2006 with a BA in theatre and a minor in creative writing. CofC did not offer a creative writing major at the time, so he built one for himself by completing all of the coursework for the fiction and poetry creative writing minors and all of the writing classes in the theatre department. He rounded out his education in writing by including classes in literature, theatre history, art history, arts management, studio art, biology, and teaching. He graduated salutitorian from the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program at Full Sail University in December 2019.
Joseph has been a carpenter, a house painter, a record store manager, a bouncer, a bartender, a proofreader, and an actor. Most recently, he worked as a professional educator for students with behavioral and emotional disabilities and for students on the autism spectrum. Joseph is exceptional at critical analysis. He combines his extensive life experience and keen eye for scope and detail with his mastery of English grammar and mechanics. He has published two short stories and a poem in the literary journal, Miscellany. A play he wrote, which Joseph also directed, was selected for production. Joseph also appears in the 2012 short film, Cannon Street Boys, that aired on South Carolina Public Television. Joseph lives in Kissimmee, Florida, with his wife and three children.

I approach teaching through my background in special education. Each student is an individual with individual needs and learning styles. Everyone has different capacities for learning, and each student needs to be given the opportunity to meet their personal goals at their own pace and through their own individual learning needs.
