About Tamara
I help writers get from a rough draft to work they're proud to send. I hold an M.A. in English with a focus on writing instruction and a creative writing specialization, graduating magna cum laude, along with a B.A. in Business Management. I've spent more than 25 years designing and teaching adult learning programs in healthcare, financial services, and technology. Today I teach adult learners through the Foundations program at South County Senior Center and at Anne Arundel Community College. My approach is direct and patient: we look at what you're trying to say, who's reading it, and what's getting in the way, and you leave with a stronger draft and a method you can reuse.

I help writers get from a rough draft to work they're proud to send. I hold an M.A. in English (literature and writing instruction, creative writing specialization, magna cum laude) and a B.A. in Business Management. I've spent more than 25 years designing and teaching adult learning programs in healthcare, financial services, and technology. Currently, I teach adult learners through the Foundations and Genealogy Research programs at South County Senior Center and Anne Arundel Community College.
I work with college and graduate students on essays, personal statements, and thesis writing. I also work with professionals on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and business writing. My approach is direct: we look at what you're trying to say, who's reading it, and what's getting in the way. Then you revise, and I will show you why each change works. You leave with a stronger draft and a method you can use again.
Sessions usually start with a short read of your draft, and I send notes you can keep. I'm patient with nervous writers and blunt about what needs to go.
