About Art
Hello! My name is Art and I am a freshman at UCLA studying biology. I am originally from Hsinchu, Taiwan. My journey with singing started when my parents forced me to join Crystal Children's Choir in the third grade. Although I thought singing was "cringe" and "embarrassing" at the time, my subconscious passion for singing grew and grew as I got older and eventually led me to singing in that very choir for 10 years. During that time, I also was a part of the Formosa Youth Festival Choir, where we go on tour every summer performing traditional Taiwanese songs. These experiences. These experiences turned me into an extremely complete singer that has won awards for both classical and modern singing. Currently, I sing with YOUTHphonics A Cappella at UCLA where we do regular performances as well as volunteer at high schools teaching singing and musical concepts to high schoolers who have had their musical programs cut. I believe that my experiences as a singer will be able to elevate your singing and I am looking forward to contributing!

As someone who did not necessarily have a “natural” ability to sing, I struggled early on to find my voice. This, as well as being part of a diverse group of singers growing up in Taiwan, led me to be able to understand all the different types of voices and the way they learn/develop. During my lessons, I will quickly procure a unique lesson plan based on your unique needs. We will work on unique ways to elevate your pitch, tempo, intonation, and overall sound quality. Whether you are trying to make an audition or just impress your friends during a car ride, I believe that my lessons are perfect for taking your singing to the next level!
