About Lori
I view literacy as a lifelong journey rather than a classroom requirement. My career has been defined by a commitment to academic excellence—a standard I have upheld while guiding my own three children through the milestones of higher education and professional life. Having mentored a college graduate, a current university student, and a third on the way, I understand that every learner requires a unique roadmap to reach their full potential.
In my daily practice, I bridge the gap between creative expression and technical mastery. As a published author and poet, I help students move beyond simple comprehension to find their unique voice and confidence. My approach is rooted in the same high-level strategies I use to coach other educators, ensuring that every session is purposeful, engaging, and results-oriented. With 12 years of classroom experience and a current role training other educators, I bring an "expert-level" perspective to literacy. I hold an EC-12 certification, allowing me to bridge the gap between foundational elementary skills and advanced high school composition.
Beyond the classroom, I am a published author, poet, and professional ghostwriter. This professional writing background allows me to teach students the "art" of the craft alongside the "science" of grammar. Whether we are mastering phonics or polishing college essays, I provide the unique insights of a working writer to help your student find their own voice and build lasting academic confidence.
