About Karyn
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University School of Education, I spent 23 years teaching at the elementary level and tutoring students in math. I was highly involved with curriculum design in the area of math allowing me to attend conferences, professional development, and present in-service training regarding the teaching and learning of math. I have taught and or tutored students from first grade through Algebra 2.
My years of experience in teaching at a variety of levels with different modalities in mind make me an excellent tutor. I have a documented growth rate with my past students as a testament to my highly effective teaching methods. I look forward to working with you.

I take the time to get to know every student’s learning style and build upon current understanding of concepts. Each lesson includes a warm up, review of past skills, reteach as needed, new skill introduction and practice, and reflection of new understanding. I’ve taught grades 2 - 5 and tutored students through high school math levels. After over 25 years of teaching and developing relationships with students, I’ve accumulated many teaching and motivation strategies for a variety of ages and learning styles.
